Miami has several hot spots that are known for its night life, dining, and other attractions. These hot spots include Aventura, Brickell, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Downtown, Falls, Kendall, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach, South Beach, and Sunset/South Miami.
If you visiting or live in the northern part of Miami, you are probably familiar with the Aventura area. One of the biggest attractions in Aventura is the Aventura Mall. It is one of largest regional malls in Florida with anchor tenants such as Bloomingdales's, Burdines-Macy's, JC Penney, and Sears. Popular Aventura Restaurants such as The Cheesecake Factory and TGI Friday's are also located in the Aventura mall.
Brickell, another Miami neighborhood, is experiencing one of the largest real estate booms. Located close to Downtown Miami, Brickell is where many young working professionals live, which makes Brickell a lively spot for some upscale restaurants. The Brickell restaurants cater to the working professionals by
offering happy hour on Thursday's and Friday's.
Bordering the bay, Coconut Grove is famous for its Art Festival and outdoor shopping. Cocowalk, which is in the center of Coconut Grove, has many shops and restaurants to choose from. Many of Coconut Grove Restaurants offer outdoor dining, especially the ones that are situated on the bay such as Monty's and Baleen Restaurant.
Close to Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove is the Coral Gables neighborhood. George Merrick, the founder of Coral Gables, was inspired by Mediterranean and Spanish architecture, which can be seen very distinctly in the buildings. Coral Gables is known for its fine dining restaurants; however, not all Coral Gables Restaurants are upscale, and you can still find a casual place for a quick bite.
In Miami, the Downtown Restaurants cater to the business crowd offering many lunch specials and delivery service. If you are on vacation or have time to step away from the business conference, a notable attraction to visit is Bayside, which has great ocean views, shopping, and restaurants to dine at.
The Falls Mall, located in the Coral Reef and Falls area, has anchor stores like Macy's and Bloomingdales and many popular restaurants. Bice Restaurants recently opened up a location in this mall, and you will find other restaurants such as Los Ranchos and Friday's. Many of the Falls Restaurants are family oriented since it is located in the suburbs of Miami.
There are many restaurants located in the Kendall area. Kendall is not necessarily known for upscale restaurants, but you can still find a handful of Kendall restaurants that offer fine dining.
The most popular hot spot in Miami is the Miami Beach area, which can be broken down into South Beach and North Miami Beach. Because there are numerous restaurants located in this area, you are in you'll probably need a good guide to the Miami Beach Restaurants, North Miami Beach Restaurants, and South Beach Restaurants. If you are vacationing in South Beach, a great place to start is the Lincoln Road mall which has several great restaurants with outdoor dining so that you can people watch while enjoying your meal.
Sunset Place, a large outdoor mall in South Miami is the home of the Virgin Megastore, Nike Town, a large movie theater, and many Sunset/South Miami Restaurants. Restaurants located near to or in Sunset Place include Akashi Sushi Restaurant and Dan Marino's restaurant.
